{"id":14513,"date":"2025-11-12T10:18:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T08:18:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/?p=14513"},"modified":"2025-11-12T10:18:40","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T08:18:40","slug":"how-to-get-started-with-osi-grassland-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/how-to-get-started-with-osi-grassland-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"Autumn lawn care - how to get started?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this week's article, we would like to give you some advice on how to get started in autumn, how to choose grass seeds, how to incorporate our products into the technology to get the best results.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seed sown in autumn will germinate at a higher rate due to adequate rainfall and cooler weather. Weed germination rates are also reduced at this time, and grasses that grow to 3-5 cm tall will have a competitive advantage over them in the spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before sowing:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>map the place where we would like to grass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what kind of soil do we have (sandy, clay, maybe rubble)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what will we use the land for?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prepare the soil for sowing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>buy only quality grass seed from specialised garden shops, where they can even give you expert advice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:62px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-veteskor-ezekre-a-fobb-pontokra-figyeljunk\"><strong>When sowing, these are the main points to look out for:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>keep the soil moist for the sprouting plants (this concerns the top 2-3 cm of the soil, where the grass roots are located)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>when spraying by hand, ensure even application of the seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cover the seeds with 1-2 cm of soil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the area should not be visited for 6-7 weeks after sowing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:62px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"908\" height=\"472\" src=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes.jpg\" alt=\"lawn, sowing\" class=\"wp-image-14515\" style=\"width:554px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes.jpg 908w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes-768x399.jpg 768w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes-18x9.jpg 18w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/gyep-vetes-600x312.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 908px) 100vw, 908px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:62px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hogyan-segithetjuk-a-gyepunk-kezdeti-fejlodeset\"><strong>How can we help our lawns get started?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/blackjak\/\">Blackjak<\/a> - Leonardite-based hummus preparation. It is most often referred to for its soil improvement properties, as it can loosen cohesive soils and make loose sandy soils more friable. Place seeds in 1% solution for 6-12 hours. Higher concentrations may have inhibitory effects!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water the soil or the seedlings with a solution of 1-2%. According to US data, the recommended dose is 0.5-1.5 litres\/1,000 m<sup>2.\u00a0<\/sup>In hot weather, use the higher dose, in cooler weather (now) use the lower dose. Their use reduces fertiliser use (especially phosphorus), makes the lawn more responsive to stress situations and makes it more difficult for certain soil-borne pathogens to penetrate the plant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:62px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mikomax\">MikoMax Garden<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc9a <a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/mikomax-garden\/\">MikoMax Garden<\/a> mycorrhiza granules should be applied in one of the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The product should be spread and worked in shallowly before lawn care.
