This time&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/tricho-immune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Tricho Immun<\/strong><\/a> We tested a biostimulant on an acacia plantation at the time of planting. Please do have a look&nbsp;<strong>Dr Erzs\u00e9bet Karaffa<\/strong>, written by a professor at the University of Debrecen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-a-nbsp-tricho-immun-nbsp-biostimulans-hatasa\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udc9a&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/tricho-immune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Tricho Immun<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;biostimulant effect<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researchers from the University of Debrecen and the University of Sopron investigated the effect of biostimulant treatment on a newly planted black locust stand in the Debrecen-Hal\u00e1p area, on humus-rich sandy soil. The 2024 growing season was characterised by severe drought. The roots of the two-year-old black locust seedlings were soaked for 24 hours prior to planting in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/tricho-immune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Tricho Immun<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;(Danuba) in an aqueous suspension of 1%, which contains two specialised endophytic strains (<em>Trichoderma afroharzianum<\/em>&nbsp;TR04 and&nbsp;<em>Trichoderma simmonsii&nbsp;<\/em>(TR05) is included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-miert-volt-szukseg-a-vizsgalatara\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why was it necessary to investigate this?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:128;margin-right:128;margin-bottom:128;margin-left:128\">The black locust is a fast-growing tree species with a wide tolerance range, but in the initial period following planting, drought can cause significant losses and slow growth. Researchers have developed a natural fungus-based preparation (<em>Tricho Immun<\/em>) has been tested, which helps trees to establish roots early and survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-medium\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-300x225.png\" alt=\"acacia sapling\" class=\"wp-image-20589\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-768x576.png 768w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-16x12.png 16w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt-600x450.png 600w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmunteszt.png 1448w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-hogyan-segitett-a-nbsp-tricho-immun-nbsp-az-akacnak\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How did the&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/tricho-immune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Tricho Immun<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;the black locust?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before planting, the roots of the saplings were soaked in a solution containing beneficial fungi. In late spring (at the end of May), the treated stand showed spectacular growth compared with the control group:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the small trees that have been treated&nbsp;<strong>they were a quarter (25,75%) higher<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the&nbsp;<strong>their stems have also thickened by more than 20%<\/strong>, which means better mechanical stability and more efficient water transport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udc9a&nbsp;<strong>chlorophyll content of the leaves (SPAD) measured at 9.1%,<\/strong>&nbsp;whilst the&nbsp;<strong>NDVI&nbsp;<\/strong>(normalised differential vegetation index)&nbsp;<strong>It was 11.1% higher<\/strong>, demonstrating better foliage health and photosynthetic capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun.jpg\" alt=\"Tricho Immun\" class=\"wp-image-20590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun.jpg 800w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun-18x9.jpg 18w, https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/trichoimmun-600x300.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-a-nbsp-tuleles-ritka-a-szarazsagban\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Survival is rare during a drought<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the intense summer heat and drought set in, edible mushrooms (particularly the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/tricho-immune\/\">Tricho Immun<\/a><\/strong>) helped the plants to manage their water use efficiently. Although the difference in height had evened out by the end of the season due to late-summer pruning and damage caused by wildlife, the treated saplings entered the winter with a much more stable base (a stronger root collar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-a-nbsp-kiskerti-tanulsag\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The lesson from the small garden<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201ePriming\u201d the roots of trees before planting is an environmentally friendly, sustainable and reliable method of ensuring that our saplings take root firmly even in poorer-quality, sandy soils and can withstand the drought caused by climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tip<\/strong>: It further increases the chances of germination and, later on, improves the seedling\u2019s uptake of water and nutrients if, at the time of planting,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/danubagarden.hu\/en\/product\/mikomax-garden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MikoMax Garden&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a>We also sprinkle mycorrhiza into the planting hole!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can purchase our products from our online shop or from our retailers.
