The main ingredient in Asco Alga is <em>Ascohyllum nodosum<\/em> Compared with other algae, it contains a higher proportion of plant hormones that promote growth (e.g. auxin); its use is therefore recommended primarily during periods of intensive plant growth. These algae are harvested by hand in the Brittany region of France.
