Although fungal diseases of strawberries are less common in home gardens, they can still occur. Which of the strawberry diseases can pose the greatest threat to our plants?

Strawberry diseases: fungi that threaten the crop
Fungal diseases of strawberries
1. Strawberries grey rot (Botrytis cinerea) diseasee is the most common and best known: it occurs mainly in wet, humid weather and can cause significant crop failure. Infection starts in the soil or from diseased plant debris and can then infect flowers, which later turn brown and eventually die. The disease can also be caused by excessive nitrogen application and over-dense and/or weedy stands.
2. Strawberries phytophthora fruit rot (Phytophtora cactorum): without mulch is most common. In this case, the fruit becomes rubbery but does not rot.
3. Strawberries gnomonian fruit rot (Gnomonia comari): dry rot appears on the fruit.
