What is SoftGuard good for?

Strengthens the plant's immune system, making it easier to fight off pathogens
Accelerates the healing of wounds
Enhances colouration
Also a source of nutrients for the plant (complex sugars), thus increasing its yield
Bactericidal, fungicidal, insecticidal, insect repellent
Furthermore, it not only strengthens the plant's immune system, but rather activates it. Because only some of the genes stored in the DNA work as needed. The majority of the defence genes are inactive when there is no trouble.

How to apply?

The product should be dissolved at a concentration of 1-2%, i.e. 1-2dl of SoftGuard is required in 10L of spray. Treatment should be repeated every 2-3 weeks or alternated with Ino Si (high silicon). To protect houseplants, the pre-mixed 0.5 litre spray bottle can be used easily.

Why should I choose this product?

An important measure of chitosan products is the extent to which the chitin used as a raw material has been "cut" into smaller pieces of chitosan. The measure of this is the Dalton. The higher this number, the smaller the chitosan particles and the more efficiently it is absorbed by the plant. The SoftGuard Dalton number is 3,000.
It is preferable to choose a product with an acidic pH, i.e. below 6, for better compatibility with other products.

Storage of the product

Between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius in its original packaging, the product will keep its expiry date for at least 36 months. It should be applied as soon as possible after opening but stored tightly resealed and refrigerated for up to 6 months without deterioration.

What is chitosan, the active ingredient in SoftGuard? Chitosan is produced from chitin, mainly from the chitinous shells of molluscs and crustaceans. Chitin is the second most abundant organic molecule on earth after cellulose. Cellulose is the skeleton of plants, while chitin is the skeleton of bacteria, fungi and insects. In 2014, the EU approved chitosan as an active substance to enhance plant resistance.

How does chitosan strengthen the immune system?

Since chitin is associated with bacteria, fungi and insects, the plant perceives its presence as an alien organism, i.e. an attack.
In this way, chitosan enhances the plant's defence system. This means that it activates dormant genes on the chromosome that are only needed in this specific "fighting" situation.
A similar immune reaction is triggered by the fungi Trichoderma or Micorrhiza from the plant.
Chitosan is an organic molecule that is made up of the "LEGO" building blocks of glucose from photosynthesis in the same way as almost everything else in the living world, and is therefore a useful nutrient for plants.

Use of complementary products:

Step 1: Application of Tricho Immun
Apply Tricho Immun first. It needs a few hours to penetrate the plant and a few weeks to fully spread and start protecting and strengthening it internally.
Step 1 add: Add Asco Alga
In addition to Tricho Immun, you can also apply Asco Alga, which complements the effects of Tricho Immune.
Step 2: Apply SoftGuard and DanuVital Bio+ one week later
After a week, you can spray SoftGuard together with DanuVital Bio+. To avoid adverse interactions, this should be done only after Tricho Immun and Asco Alga.
Repeat treatments: SoftGuard combinations every 2-3 weeks
You can repeat the treatment cycles every 2-3 weeks, alternating between SoftGuard + Asco Alga and SoftGuard + DanuVital Bio+.
