One of the foundations of quality work is continuous learning. That's why we regularly attend professional training courses where we learn first-hand about the latest technologies, research and the science behind our products. Most recently Ingo Rogge of Kelpak European Regional Manager, gave us the opportunity to get a more detailed insight into the history of this biostimulant. 🪸
Experienced manufacturer
Founded in 1978 Kelpak with nearly 50 years of experience, is now a global market leader in seaweed products. At the heart of their philosophy is Ecklonia maxima algae, freshly harvested from its natural habitat, ethically harvested and their unique Cellburst production technology. As a result, this ground-breaking biostimulant is able to offer gardeners and farmers unrivalled help to improve their yields.

The raw material
💚 Kelpak is based on the alga Ecklonia maxima, which lives in the deep ocean off the South African Atlantic coast. Harvesting is carried out with the utmost care, using only manual labour. To preserve the ecosystem, only the leaves are cut, in a fixed quantity to guarantee regeneration and only every 24 months is the same area returned to.

Unique Cellburst technology
To preserve the sensitive active ingredients, processing is done the same day. The algae is sorted, cut into manageable size pieces and washed. The purified material is then checked, and then gradually chopped further. A shredding technique is then used, which gently and naturally opens the cells through pressure changes, which preserves all the valuable cellular components, as no heat or solvents are used. This method, perfected over 4 decades, has allowed Kelpak to prove its worth as a premium biostimulant in 85 countries around the world.
Supporting innovation
In addition to continuous improvement, the unique Kelpak scientific support. So far, more than 1000 experimental results have been published on 6 continents. It has been tested on more than 70 plant species and more than 100 scientific articles have been published on its use, so year after year it has proven results.

What are the effects of the compounds it contains?
- stronger root formation
- more intensive foliage development
- better pollination and crop fixation
