What does the gardener plant in autumn? Garden in autumn too!

autumn garden

The answer is simple: everything! In this quick summary, let's look at all the things you can do in the garden in autumn.

1. Autumn decoration, balcony boxes

Although most of the annuals are still beautiful, they will soon be ruined by the first cold of dawn. This is when we tend to replace annuals with more or less cold-tolerant species such as chrysanthemums, pansy, chokecherry, erica, honeysuckle, dwarf evergreens, etc. We can think of single species, but perhaps even more beautiful are mixed plantings. When planting in the balcony box, we - so Danubian - now also put mycorrhizae under the roots of the plants.

Rooting is further supported by Kelpak substances with a hormonal action in the formulation of algae auxin. In the spring, perennial species (e.g. chrysanthemum or honeysuckle) planted in the balcony box can be planted out in the garden, by which time mycorrhizal fungi have already multiplied beautifully on the roots.

2. Free-rooted plants

In the horticultural markets, it is possible to sell free-rooted plants: fruit trees, berries, grapes, roses after 15 October, and forest seedlings from November. From a professional point of view, this is still very early, as plants root best when they are defoliated. If you take our advice, try to choose from our range of horticultural goods, which are grafted from controlled farms with individual plant passports. Within those, it's also best to plant those that have been produced as late as possible (ideally only in November). These plants have a much better chance of taking root.

When planting, cut back the thick roots to about 2/3 of their original length and then Tricho Immun-soak in water. The beneficial Trichoderma fungi quickly enter the plant's tissues and begin to multiply. The only Trichoderma preparations currently on the market are Tricho Immunstrains are endogenous, i.e. they live in plants, the rest are soil dwellers. This method is used to support the plant's immune system against harmful fungi from the planting stage. In the planting hole Mikomax sprinkle with mycorrhiza mushrooms and water with Kelpak water.

Spring onions

This is the time to plant spring bulbs: tulips, daffodils, coconuts, hyacinths, clustered pearls and many more. If you feel you don't have a foot of space left for any plants, there's always room for bulbs. Or you can make a pot of bulb lasagna: plant different bulbs in a pot and you'll have a continuous flowering beauty from February to May. Mikomax can also be used for planting them.

3. Earth ball plants

It is also the season for planting ground cover plants. In garden centres you can find a huge variety of mainly evergreen species, such as yew trees, junipers, false cypresses, pines of all shapes and sizes. Here, too, it is worth keeping in mind that you should look for quality!

Although the price of the necrotic earthworms available in multinationals is affordable, their survival rate is very low. When planting, the jute bag that holds the soil ball together should not be removed from the plant, as moisture will cause it to slowly decompose in the soil. In the planting hole Mikomax sprinkle with mycorrhizal fungi, then Kelpakos water thoroughly with water.

4. Container (potted) plants in autumn

Container plants can be planted all year round. The method is the same as above.

5. Autumn crops

Let's not forget the vegetable garden! Autumn crops: salad vegetables, peas, parsley, carrots, onions, spinach. In the prepared soil in the row or planting hole Mikomax mycorrhizae are sprinkled, and at the end Kelpakos watered with water.

10M Mulch

For autumn, Danuba Garden's suggestion is not to leave the soil uncovered in winter to protect it from erosion and drying out. Where there are no autumn crops, you can sow 10M Mulch a seed mix containing 10 types of seeds enriched with mycorrhiza. Don't leave the border of your crops uncovered either: cover the soil with any kind of mulch (grass clippings, branch cuttings).

Remember that you need water for successful rooting. Yes, even in winter! In recent years, winter precipitation has been drastically reduced and its distribution is very hectic. So, strange as it may seem, when planting freshly, you still need to water in January in frost-free weather.
